Stitch Fix Reveal #12

I love this time of the month. The time of the month when my personalized style box arrives at my front door. I look forward to it and track my box obsessively once I get the nice little "Your fix has been shipped" email. I also very much look forward to sharing all my fixes with you, here, on the blog! They've been some of our most popular posts and I love that you guys can take the item names and request them for yourself if you love them too. You can see all our Stitch Fix posts here if you need to catch up!

Stitch Fix Reveal #12

Before we get started, here is a bit about Stitch Fix if you don't already know:

  1. It is a personal styling service in which you fill out a style profile, give them links to your Pinterest style board and leave notes for your stylist as regularly or irregularly as you'd like.
  2. Your stylist takes the time to handpick 5 items for your fix that they think you'll love. These items vary from clothes to jewelry, scarves, purses and even shoes. For my Stitch Fixes I only ask for clothes because that is the area where I lack styling ability.
  3. They ship you your fix, you receive it and have approximately 2 days to try everything on and decide if you love it or hate it. Then you send back what you don't want in a pre-paid envelope and keep the items you couldn't part with.
  4. Last little details, Stitch Fix has a $20 fee for each fix sent to you. If you purchase any items the $20 goes towards your purchase and if you purchase all five items you get 25% off! You can get a Fix as often as you want. I am signed up to receive them monthly but I can turn that off at any time, set it up to send only when I request one or I could even bump it up to every two weeks (if only Justin wouldn't have a fit over that...).

I have to say, as much as I love Stitch Fix, and often by 3-5 items, this just wasn't the fix for that. I'm even a tiny bit disappointed I kept one of the items I kept. Can I return things late? Like weeks late? I don't think so :( I didn't HATE anything in this fix, I just didn't love it enough to spend the money. Justin and I have a pretty massive savings goal for 2017 and, unfortunately, I'm going to have to be a bit pickier when it comes to Stitch Fix than previously.

Okay, fine, gosh. I'm getting to it!

Coin 1804 - Magdelena Striped Back Pullover Sweater
Small - $74
Returned

Coin 1804 Magdelena Striped Back Pullover Sweater Back

Initially, when I pulled this out of the box I was like heck-to-the-no. It just seemed silly to me. I actually did like it on though and it was very comfortable but just not something I LOVED. Especially for the price. For some reason, the stripes remind me of a hospital gown and I just couldn't get on board with that. Back it went.

THML - Alanna Plaid Pullover
Small - $58
Kept!

THML Alanna Plaid Pullover

This one I DID keep. I loved that it was pretty preppy and this fix actually came on Christmas Eve, so I wore this Christmas day as I thought it was pretty holiday-y with the plaid and green/gold stripes. It's also super thick which is nice when the temps get low. I was SO, SOOOO looking forward to wearing this with the next piece.... but alas....

41Hawthorn - Shara Herringbone Vest
Small - $68
Returned :( womp womp

41Hawthorn Shara Herringbone Vest

I had this vest pinned no less than 10 times on my Pinterest board, I loved it until I actually wore it. Trust me when I tell you that this is by far the most flattering picture I was able to get in it. It's too short, the pockets puffed out and were in an awkward place on the front of the vest and it really just didn't do anything for me. I'm still mourning what it could have been.

Mavi - Freida Skinny Jean
Size 4 - $98
Kept

Mavi Freida Skinny Jean in Navy

If you actually read what I wrote above and don't just scan the pictures (like I do), then you saw that I kept one item that I probably could have done without. This is that item. I kept them because they look great with boots, they're plenty tight and they are an actual dyed navy, rather than a jean blue that will fade. I like those things. However, the bottoms are not tight at all, at the ankle they're super loose, so loose I can't even roll them to be tight, which I hate. I can't wear these other than with boots and for the price, I wish I'd sent them back :(

Wisp - Braylen Crepe Dress
Size 4 - $98
Returned

Wisp Braylen Crepe Dress

Gosh, I was disappointed I got this dress in my fix. I pin EVERYTHING on my style board on Pinterest and this dress has been pinned by others a million and a half times, never once by me. Because I don't like it. I don't think it's particularly flattering, I don't like the slit or the color block or the sleeves or... really any of it. I also have 3 other dresses (from stitch fix) in this color, do I need another? Negative.

So that's my fix, anything you love?!

If you haven't already... I strongly suggest you start Stitch Fix today (even if this wasn't my best fix ever), I can't speak highly enough of the service. My wardrobe is more stylish than I ever could have done shopping for myself. Not to mention, shopping is stressful and I kind of hate it...

What did you think of this fix? I'm struggling to figure out what I need next, do you have any recommendations of items you've received that I should request? My stylist needs some pointers this month!
