A weekend in review

Oooh Monday. I'm too tired for you today.

My 6:40 am flight out of Seattle, ignore the blurry pixelated photo - can you tell I need a new phone?

I'm tired because we had a very full weekend around here and minus the dismal Seahawks outing it was a total success! I really started the weekend on Thursday when I traveled to Denver for work FY17 planning and then dinner, a bit of work on Friday and the Denver office Christmas party. Can we just talk about how pretty Denver is? If they had the ocean, or a lot of lakes, or Puget Sound or some form of water, I'd totally move there.

I also feel like I got a real opportunity to kick off winter when it was SIX degrees Thursday morning and evening. I was totally prepared for weather in the twenties, but SIX DEGREES? NO. We did have an amazing time though and it was so nice to enjoy a low-key house party with some of my favorite coworkers.

Saturday morning I got off the plane in Seattle just in time to drive home and get ready for our first-holiday party here.

But before I go into that... I stopped at Starbucks on my way home to get a grande pike for Justin and a grande iced coffee for myself. I've never had such a cluster of an experience in a Starbucks drive-thru... Let's just say that it took forever, the first drink they handed me was spilled all over me and not what I'd ordered. Justin's drink was fine, but the drink they re-made for me (simple iced coffee) had a cracked glass and went all over my car. Thank goodness for Justin to had the wherewithal to take my coffee upstairs and put what was remaining in a cup for me because, damn it, I needed that coffee!

Moving onnnn.

Saturday night was a pajama/Christmas themed black elephant party with Justin's soccer team. I love this group of people and it was a ton of fun. It was also a super nice change from the gag-gift type white elephants. These gifts had to be over $50, no gift cards and a gift couldn't consist only of booze - haha! I brought Moscow Mule glasses from Sur La Table, Justin brought some Rap Yearbook, Hennessee and two like, sipping glasses? Whatever, all I know is we ended up bringing home some cool gifts, including an Amazon Dot!

We also would have won the best pajama/costume award had their been one. ANNNNND I matched the adorable baby that made an appearance :)

Baby Mason is one of Justin's teammates babes and he is amaaaaazing and adorable. One of Justin's teammates has an intense beard and every time Mason caught a glimpse of him his lip started quivering and he had to be scooped up by his mama. Other than that, though, Mason was a total trooper and we all had fun loving on him until his dad came to take him home for bedtime.

Then today Justin went snowboarding and I napped on the couch and that wrapped up the perfect weekend in my books. Besides the Starbucks. And the flying on Saturday. Those two things can go. But other than thaaaaat, perfection.

How was your weekend, did you start kicking off work and personal holiday parties!?
