Oh, where to even begin today? Maybe with a happy Friday and a yay, I survived my first business trip! Where to go next? Onto blog crush Friday! We've been doing this series since we started this blog back in January and every month we highlight one of our favorite bloggers. I've done blogs like Just Go Left by the amazing Ashten who just got engaged (yippee!!!), and Camp Patton, the mommy blogger of all mommy bloggers...
But today is all about a girl who takes after my own heart. A girl who loves sports, pizza and has learned how to dress her size medium body to perfection. Sarah Webb from Venus Trapped in Mars is one of the most real bloggers out there and also one of the most fun!
Ever heard of #GirlsGoneDraft? That was a Sarah idea that went wild on Twitter during the NFL draft for at least the last two years if not more. I love participating in and following along with all of her girl power and encouragement when it comes to the very male-dominated sports world. Why can't I play in a Fantasy Football league, and hell, why can't I WIN?! Sarah thinks we should and we can and she not only encourages it, she helps us all figure it out along the way! Not to mention, she shares all her awesome team name ideas.
But besides all the sports talk, which I love, Sarah is extremely humble and honest on her blog. She talks about body issues; people who shame her, or others; and a whole lot about Dallas, where she's from.
Admittedly, Venus Trapped in Mars isn't a blog I've followed all along (clearly, because I'm a dum-dum), but it is one I now follow religiously. Yesterday I saw on Twitter that Pizza Hut was looking to pay someone to tour the country watching college football and eating pizza. I of course immediately shared this tweet with Sarah, who (as per usual) replied immediately... Turns out she'd written a whole post about it that I just hadn't gotten to yet. Now it's just very important that you go check out her blog and (Call to action!!!) share this post all over Twitter (specifically to @pizzahut) so Sarah can win!!
Sarah is hilarious and serious and so very, very cool. I can't wait to visit Dallas someday and meet up with her because she's the type of blogger who would totally get a beer with a loyal follower. And for that, and much more, you are our blog crush of October, Sarah!
