Stitch Fix Reveal #14

Woop! I mentioned in my last Stitch Fix post that my fix was less than a winner and I sent it all back :( luckily, Stitch Fix is beyond amazing to work with and they credited my $20 styling fee for my next fix, so I bumped it up two weeks and got it sooner! That's what today is, my "make-up" fix for last month while my stylist was on vacation and my fix just wasn't quite right.

This was actually my 27th fix, as my receipt always tells me, but I've only covered 14 here on the blog. Either way, I've been doing this for over 2 years and still love it!!

Stitch Fix Reveal #14

Before we get started, here is a bit about Stitch Fix if you don't already know:

  1. It is a personal styling service in which you fill out a style profile, give them links to your Pinterest style board and leave notes for your stylist as regularly or irregularly as you'd like.
  2. Your stylist takes the time to handpick 5 items for your fix that they think you'll love. These items vary from clothes to jewelry, scarves, purses and even shoes. For my Stitch Fixes I only ask for clothes because that is the area where I lack styling ability.
  3. They ship you your fix, you receive it and have approximately 2 days to try everything on and decide if you love it or hate it. Then you send back what you don't want in a pre-paid envelope and keep the items you couldn't part with.
  4. Last little details, Stitch Fix has a $20 fee for each fix sent to you. If you purchase any items the $20 goes towards your purchase and if you purchase all five items you get 25% off! You can get a Fix as often as you want. I am signed up to receive them monthly but I can turn that off at any time, set it up to send only when I request one or I could even bump it up to every two weeks (if only Justin wouldn't have a fit over that...).

I also had some funky pictures last time, turns out Aperture Priority mode doesn't work very well when using a timer - DUH. This months are better :)

Renee C - Diedre Lace Pencil Skirt
Medium - $64

This one was kind of a bummer because I love me some lace pencil skirts and this one had beautiful detail in black and white, but it was just too big. In fact, it wasn't too big, it fit perfectly around the waist, but it was so loose through the hips, thighs and even knee area. You can see in the second picture where I pulled it a bit tighter from behind and to me, that looks way better. Maybe I'm crazy, is the top picture how this is supposed to look? I didn't love it.

Skies are Blue - Grindelwald Henley Blouse

I love this blouse, guys. I actually wore it yesterday, with my pink jeans and some brown boots and just really love it. First of all, it looks so effortless but is so stylish and also very professional. I love the detail on the sleeves where they're striped and the buttons are a nice touch. Tucked in or out, I love it!

41Hawthorn - Bethane Faux Wrap Knit Top
Small - $54

This one definitely only warranted one picture, unfortunately, I don't think it does it justice (in the way of, it looked not great at all). I hated the faux wrap, I felt like it looked a bit matronly, or... like a dress maybe? It just wasn't great on the shirt and with the longer sleeves and the pattern it was just a big no for me.

Renee C - Addae Knit Dress
Small - $74

I had asked for some attire for my bridal shower, but I guess I should be more specific in that I want it to be all white. I actually didn't hate this dress. Initially, out of the box, I was like GOSH - I do not need another work appropriate knit dress. But then I put it on and was like oh, this isn't bad! This is cute! Not quite what I'm looking for for my shower, but cute nonetheless. Then I saw the pictures and thought dear Lord, too short for work. So back it went.

BRIXON IVY - Jarred Lace Detail Cap-Sleeve Blouse
Small - $58

#Obsessed is the only way to describe my love affair with this shirt. I had pinned it and was so excited when my stylist was able to grab it in my size for this fix. The details are truly exquisite and it even zips up the back. Believe it or not, I'm wearing a light purple/nude bra here and you can't even see it! You can't see it in person either! Love the fit, love the lace, love the color. Everyone should own this blouse. Except maybe not - that leaves a high chance we'll match someday.

So there you have it, fix number 14 here on the blog! What did you think?

If you haven't already... I strongly suggest you start Stitch Fix today, I can't speak highly enough of the service. My wardrobe is more stylish than I ever could have done shopping for myself and the Stitch Fix stylists and customer service reps are out of this world impressive.

Blog Crush: Coffee + Crumbs

It is 6:01 AM and I have just spent the night battling it out with a 5 week old. I have spit up in my hair, on my pants, and even on my socks. And if the state of my personal hygiene is not a dead give away, let's just say my house in seriously in need of a little TLC... Exhausted does not even begin to describe how I tired I am these days, and honestly the last thing in the world I want to do right now is blog BUT then I remembered it is Blog Crush day and on this particular Blog Crush day we are talking about one of my favorite blogs I have ever stumbled upon...

Coffee + Crumbs

Coffee + Crumbs is a collaborative blog created by a group of mothers who share honest (and sometimes hilarious) short stories about motherhood. In their own words:

We believe the very essence of motherhood can be found in the sweet spot between coffee and crumbsโ€”in that magical place between calm and chaos, beauty and mess, between snuggling newborns on our chests and chasing rambunctious kids around the parks.

Coffee + Crumbs is a collection of stories about motherhood, love, truth, and the good kind of heartache.
— Coffee + Crumbs // About Us

Although Coffee + Crumbs is a "mommy blog", I have come to view this site as an ode to all of life's different relationships and I can honestly say I benefited as a mother (and a wife) from reading this blog. The individuals who contribute to this blog do not hide the tough stuff, they embrace the craziness that is motherhood and they do it with a sense of humor and light-heartedness that make me feel like "hey, if they can do it, so can I!".

Have you had a chance to check out Coffee + Crumbs? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below!
